2. There are only 2-3 computers in the KCS office, therefore there needs to be more hardware. This is causing a lack of efficiency and accessibility on the office.
3. Security measures should be changed because you can login anytime, anywhere. There is no protocol for changing the passwords once someone is no longer employed with KCS.
4. There is not a designated person in KCS in charge of managing the database. Multiple people oversee the running of the system and none have a background in technology. This causes lack of efficiency and problems occurring frequently within the department.
Recommendations for College Central
1. To assist in the problem of silos, a section within the backend of College Central can be created to keep track of the recent job postings. The section can be updated in real time and have the most recent posting up top. There also should be a search bar for quick access to ensure that the job someone was about to post is not already there.
2. To fix the lack of hardware, KCS should invest in buying more computers, laptops, or tablets to ensure the office has a sufficient number.
3. To fix the security issue, KCS should have the IT department change the access allowed to a user when someone gets terminated, or lock them out of the system.
4. KCS should hire a database administrator to oversee the management of the system. This person would have the background needed to successfully tackle the issues and protocols necessary when dealing with database management.
Problems with using Instagram
1. The KCS Instagram posts infrequently and has limited followers. This is causing a disconnect with KCS's goal of reaching the students and informing them of events and info sessions offered.
2. The Instagram page lacks clear, concise information regarding the location of the KCS office and in their posts. This makes it difficult for the user to find basic information and requires the user to do additional searching.
3. The pictures KCS posts are blurry and seem like lack of effort was put into the posts. This makes KCS seem unprofessional and causes the user to prejudge the office.
4. There is lack of connection with KCS and their audience. There are limited comments on the posts and KCS doesn't reply to the comments.
Recommendations for Instagram
1. KCS should aim to post frequently whether it be on their page or on their story. They should create a schedule of what and when to post in order to successfully reach their audience. This would be done more easily if a social media coordinator was hired with a marketing background or an intern to assist the manager in running the page. Someone with a fresh, current mind would be able to assist the page in reaching KCS's intended audience.
2. KCS should organize their page in a way that is clear, concise, and to the point so the user can easily find what they are looking for. KCS should change their biography to have their location and hours of operation instead of a general description of what KCS's goal is. This could be done more easily by changing from a personal account type to a business.
3. To fix the lack of professionalism in KCS's posts, hiring someone to be in charge of the KCS social media or an intern to assist in the running of the page would be most successful. Clear and eye-catching pictures and posts would be posted and have a better chance of intriguing the audience.
4. KCS can fix the lack of communication by having someone log into the page once a day to check for comments and reply to comments and direct messages sent. This would show that KCS cares about their audience.
